FAQ:
• How much are tickets?
Nothing, nowt, absolutely free. The Dorothy Pax always has, and always will provide FREE ENTRY music over The Fringe At Tramlines

• Where do I “purchase” a ticket?
You don’t, just turn up. We recommend getting down early. The Dorothy Pax is a small intimate space inside, so the best seats in the house will be limited. However, there will extra seating outside, canal-side, under gazebo cover, with a bar, and the music inside will be pumped outside too until 10PM. The Dorothy Pax will be open from noon each day over Canal-Lines weekend. During busier periods we will be operating a 1-in-1-out door policy.

• Where can I park?
We recommend using public transport, walking or cycling where you can. If you are a blue badge holder, you can park on Victoria Quays itself, please ring 07398704810 or email dorothypax@gmail.com before the weekend commences, we’ll be incredibly busy over the event itself.
Otherwise, free street parking is available on Blast Lane, just walk over the swing bridge on the canal to us. There is also free street parking on Furnival Road, you just have to walk around to us. There is also Victoria Quays secure car park behind us, entry from North Quay Drive. Please be aware if you use this car park you must take your ticket with you, as you will need it to regain access, we do not have keys to get in if you are stuck. All vehicles are left at your own risk.

• Where can I stay?
Due to being situated not too far from the centre we are close to many hotels including, The Quays Best Western, OYO, Travelodge, Premier Inn and Easy Hotel. It is Tramlines weekend though, so hotels may be hard to come by, or doubled in price. Maybe ask your mates if you can kip on their sofa instead.

• Can I bring my own food and drinks?
If you want to bring your own picnic with you, that is fine, we ask that you dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided though, to be courteous to your fellow customers arriving after you. We will have food vendors on site though over the course of the weekend, if you are feeling peckish. DO NOT bring any drinks though, security will ask you to dispose of any drinks purchased elsewhere. This is a free entry event, our sole revenue stream is the money you spend over the bar. Over the inside and outside bar you will find that we have a vast range on our bar of 9 keg lines and 7 cask lines, including local and continental brews. We’ve got a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks in our fridges. All of our wines are vegan. Our menu changes regularly sometimes on a daily basis. Are bar staff are knowledgeable and friendly, so if you are stuck, please ask and we’re sure you’ll find something to enjoy.

• Can I bring my children?
Well-behaved smaller humans are always welcome at the Pax. However, at 9PM we have to ask them to leave due to the conditions of our license.

• Is the Dorothy Pax accessible?
If you are planning to attend and you have any access requirements, please either ring Briony on 07398704810 or drop us an email to dorothypax@gmail.com. Please do so before the weekend commences as during the weekend itself, as the team at the Dorothy Pax will be super busy delivering a fantastic weekend of free live music and may not get the chance to answer the phone or answer an email. We’ll make every effort possible to ensure everyone is catered for. If you are a blue badge holder, you may park on Victoria Quays. Please be wary of the cobbles, we are aware they are unfit, but there’s not much we can do, please write your letter of complaint to Canal & Rivers Trust. We have level access to the outside onto our mezzanine level. There are 6 steps though to get down to the bar and toilets, we’ll help navigate these if need be. If you can’t get down the steps we can gain access to the accessible boater’s toilets over the footbridge, which is all level access again. We do not have an induction loop within the venue. We do have a disco ball and there are occasionally flashing lights in use. If you have any issues with flashing lights please do let us know in advance of your visit to us.

• Are dogs welcome?
Well-behaved hounds on leads are welcome at The Pax at all times. Due to the nature of Canal-Lines weekend though we ask that no dogs come into the venue itself due to the loudness and busyness of the event. Dogs are welcome outside where we always have a water bowl available for them to share.

• Anything else I should know?
o Bring what you need for the day, whether that be a brolly or sun cream, let’s hope that we eventually get some summer…
o We are a family-friendly safe space, if you see anything you don’t like, please do inform a member of staff or security. We have a 0-tolerance policy for any drugs or any other illegal activities. If you are found using or supplying drugs within our venue we will inform the police immediately. We work closely with Sheffield City Council and South Yorkshire Police.
o Have fun! Take plenty of snaps, tag us on your socials and dance along to the amazing music we’ve programmed!
